How to use the Redefynd Technology Radar

Introduction

The AI and automation landscape is evolving at unprecedented speed, with new agent frameworks, LLM capabilities, and agentic patterns emerging constantly.

At Redefynd, we're building the future of AI-powered startups through autonomous agents that transform ideas into AI-native ventures. It's essential for us to continually evaluate and adopt the most effective technologies for building agentic workflows and business automation systems.

Choosing the right technologies is critical when building autonomous agents and multi-agent systems. Each decision impacts how effectively we can automate business processes and create intelligent workflows.

What is the Redefynd Technology Radar?

The Redefynd Technology Radar provides an overview of AI frameworks, agent tools, agentic patterns, and infrastructure technologies that we consider essential for building autonomous systems. Unlike traditional technology radars, ours focuses specifically on technologies relevant to:

  • AI agent development and orchestration
  • Agentic workflow automation
  • Business process transformation through AI
  • Serverless AI infrastructure and operations

The radar doesn't cover every AI technology; instead, it highlights items that are particularly relevant for building production-ready autonomous agents and agentic systems.

How it is created

The technologies in our radar are suggested by our engineering teams based on real-world experience building AI agents and automation workflows. We only include technologies that we've personally tested in the context of agentic systems.

Our evaluations are informed by:

  • Hands-on experience building multi-agent systems
  • Production deployments on our serverless platform infrastructure
  • Integration complexity with our Kubernetes/Knative stack
  • Cost effectiveness for startup environments
  • Scalability for autonomous agent workloads

How should it be used

The radar serves as a guide for technology decisions when building AI agents, agentic workflows, and business automation systems.

It helps engineering teams:

  • Choose the right AI frameworks for specific agent use cases
  • Adopt proven patterns for multi-agent collaboration
  • Select appropriate infrastructure for scaling AI workloads
  • Avoid technologies that don't fit agentic system requirements

We hope developers building autonomous agents and AI-powered automation will find our assessments valuable for their own technology decisions.

Our specialized quadrants:

  • AI Frameworks & Languages: Programming languages, AI/ML frameworks, and libraries specifically valuable for building autonomous agents, LLM applications, and agentic workflows.

  • Agentic Methods & Patterns: Design patterns, methodologies, and architectural approaches for multi-agent systems, workflow automation, and business process transformation through AI.

  • Infrastructure & AI Operations: Platforms, infrastructure, and operational tools for deploying, scaling, and monitoring AI agents and autonomous systems in production.

  • Agent Tools & Platforms: Development tools, orchestration platforms, and specialized software for building, testing, and managing AI agents and automated workflows.

Technology assessment rings:

  • Adopt: Production-ready technologies we actively use for building autonomous agents. These have proven stable and effective in our agentic systems.

  • Trial: Promising technologies we're evaluating in pilot projects. We recommend exploring these for specific agent development needs with the goal of moving them to Adopt.

  • Assess: Technologies we find promising for agentic systems. Worth investigating when you encounter specific requirements that these technologies address.

  • Hold: Technologies we recommend avoiding or replacing in new agentic system development. This may be due to better alternatives, scalability concerns, or poor fit for autonomous agent architectures.
